Providing information and resources for parents, youth workers and educators to help kids navigate their digital world.
WHAT IS THE DIGITAL KIDS INITIATIVE?
The cultural context of children and teens is changing at breakneck speed, especially when it comes to technology. These changes leave kids facing a host of unprecedented problems, challenges, and choices. Because parents, youth workers, educators and other adults are by and large ignorant to these changes, their ability to influence, guide and direct teens in this new world is oftentimes forfeited.
The Center for Parent/Youth Understanding (CPYU) has launched the Digital Kids Initiative in response to these needs. This site is designed to offer information and tools that will help you lead the kids you know and love into living safely, wisely and to the glory of God on the emerging digital frontier.

Looking To Get Involved
Many times we have had people say that they are so glad that we are reaching out to students and their families. They often follow this up with “how can we help”. Here are a few creative and not so creative ways you can help
PAPARAZZI - Do you have a gift, talent or are good at taking pictures / making videos? We are looking for someone who would be willing to come to our outings/events, etc. and capture it on film.
SHUTTLE SERVICE - We would LOVE to find a few adults who like being around youth, enjoy driving, and would be willing to do both when needed. Several times a year we pack up for the evening and hit the road to a concert, dinner, bowling or just to play and we need transportation. EVENT TEAM - Throughout the year SoulFire hosts events for students and various other outreach events. The Event Team helps to coordinate these events and makes sure they run smoothly. HOST HOME - During the school year our Student Life Groups meet once a month in host homes for a meal. If you are interested in hosting one of the Life groups for a meal, contact us. |
S.T.U.D. TEAM - That stands for "set up & tear down". SoulFire could really use a few individuals who could assist in this area each weekend. Each Sunday we set up the stage, sound, lights and props for this ministry. If you are willing to come and help us, we would smile REALLY big at you each time.
SNACK HERO - The Aroma Cafe is home to one of SoulFire's favorite things...food. We are looking for a few who love to bake and would like to help share their God given talent with us. You could be known as the official SFSM "snack hero". SERVICE TEAM - We seek to provide several great opportunities for students to be involved in service and mission projects each year. The Service Team helps plan and coordinate these projects, allowing our students to take God’s message of hope and love across the street and around the world. YOU TELL US - Maybe you know something you could do for us that we are not even thinking about. Contact us here. |
